#1 Choose The Right Location

Before you start, decide on the ideal location for your TV. Consider factors like viewing angle, glare from windows or lights, and the proximity to power outlets and cable connections.

Once you’ve found the perfect spot, use a stud finder to locate the wall studs, as these will provide the necessary support for the TV mount.

#2 Gather The Necessary Tools And Equipment

To make the TV mounting process smoother, gather the following tools and equipment:

  • TV mount kit (ensure it is compatible with your TV size and weight)
  • Power drill
  • Screwdriver
  • Level
  • Measuring tape
  • Pencil
  • Stud finder
  • Anchors and screws (if mounting on drywall)

#3 Assemble The TV Mount

Check our TV mounting service page to make sure you select the right mount. Follow the instructions provided with the TV mount kit to assemble it correctly. Ensure all components are securely attached and ready for installation.

#4 Mark And Drill Pilot Holes

Using the stud finder, mark the location of the wall studs with a pencil. Next, position the TV mount on the wall at the desired height and use a level to ensure it is straight.

Mark the locations for the pilot holes on the wall using the mount as a guide.

#5 Install The TV Mount

With the pilot holes marked, carefully drill the holes into the wall at the designated spots. If you are mounting on drywall without studs, use appropriate anchors to provide extra support.

Attach the TV mount to the wall using screws, making sure it is firmly secured.

#6 Prepare The TV

Before lifting the TV, remove the stand or base if it’s already attached. This will make the TV lighter and easier to handle during installation. Also, check your TV’s manual for specific instructions on using a wall mount.

#7  Mount The TV

With the TV mount securely installed, it’s time to mount the TV onto it. Enlist the help of a friend or family member to assist you in lifting the TV onto the mount.

Carefully align the mounting holes on the back of the TV with the corresponding brackets on the TV mount. Slide the TV onto the mount until it clicks into place.

#8 Check For Stability

Double-check that the TV is securely attached to the mount and that there is no wobbling or instability. Gently nudge the TV to ensure it is firmly held in place.

#9 Conceal The Cables

For a clean and tidy look, consider concealing the cables behind the wall. Cable management solutions like wall plates or cable raceways can help keep your cables organized and hidden.

#9 Test The Setup

Once your TV is mounted, test the setup by turning on the TV and adjusting the viewing angle. Ensure that all connections are working correctly.

Remember, if you’re unsure about any step in the TV mounting process, don’t hesitate to seek the assistance of a professional handyman.

Properly mounting your flat-screen TV not only enhances your entertainment area but also ensures the safety of your expensive equipment. Enjoy your new TV setup stress-free!
